The release of WordPress 2.8 “Baker” was just announced. Visually, it looks almost the same as WordPress 2.7, however it is supposed to be a lot faster than previous versions. WordPress 2.8 also fixes a number of bugs and also adds a number of new features, including:
- CodePress syntax highlighting for the theme and plugin editors
- Completely re-worked widgets panel, which makes it easy to manage multiple widget areas.
- A new “Screen Options” tab on every admin page, which gives you options on how you want stuff displayed.
- And lots more.
