WordPress 2.8 Released

The release of WordPress 2.8 “Baker” was just announced. Visually, it looks almost the same as WordPress 2.7, however it is supposed to be a lot faster than previous versions. WordPress 2.8 also fixes a number of bugs and also adds a number of new features, including:

CodePress syntax highlighting for the theme and plugin editors
Completely re-worked widgets panel, which makes it easy to manage multiple widget areas.
A new “Screen Options” tab on every admin page, which gives you options on how you want stuff displayed.
And lots more.

WordPress 2.7.1 Released

It was recently announced that WordPress 2.7.1 had been released. This is the first maintenance release of the 2.7 series, and fixed 68 tickets. If you already have 2.7 installed, all you have to do is upgrade it within your admin panel. The update will automatically be downloaded and installed from there.
